This is the last in a series of new shirts I made for mewithoutYou‘s summer tour. All of the new shirts are each based on songs from the new record, Ten Stories, and this one is for my favorite track, Nine Stories. It’s about a Walrus, after escaping from a circus train, who is taunted by an owl while he is trudging along. I’m told that all of these shirts will also be available online after the tour.

Old Stories Re-Issue

Back in 2009, Adambear and I created the artwork for Old Stories by Giants. Cavity Records is doing a re-issue of this on vinyl, and asked me to slightly modify the artwork for the new pressing. We all thought it would be cool to transform the daytime scene into night, so I changed the colors around, and added a moon in there. It was pretty interesting to dig-up and re-visit a project from the past.

Atlas : Empire

Atlas : Empire is a new progressive-rock band from Glasgow, Scotland. They have a debut EP coming out titled From the Astronaut… and Adambear & I created the illustration & design for the EP. Check out this new band, for fans of ambient electronica and energetic post-hardcore.

Novos Akros

Novos Akros is the title of the new compilation, faux movie soundtrack, curated by Low in the Sky. A Record Store Day exclusive, CD + Poster release from Square Records & Patternbased. Inspired by the Akron-based roleplaying game OmegAkron, several Akron musicians banded together to create this project as a soundtrack to the movie that was set for production but lost funding prior to filming. Horak handled the illustration, and I took care of the color & design. Grab one of these at Square Records tomorrow for Record Store day! And listen to the full album, below:

Yesterday, we launched the pre-sale for the new mewithoutYou record. Those that pre-ordered the album were given an instant download of the song Fox’s Dream of the Log Flume. This song is one of my favorites from the new record, and as we’re currently working on merch for the upcoming summer tour, I had to make a shirt for this song. I’ve included the fox, log flume, and the bear & ferris wheel which are other subtle elements from the track. Listen to the song in my previous post.
