Paper or Plastic – A New Lowbrow Toy Show

The second-annual toy-show, presented by Vivid Plastic, is fast approaching. This year, the show is going to be on the third-floor of Summit Art Space, in The Box Gallery. Additionally, participating artists are encourage to accompany their custom Munnys with two-dimensional work, hence the name; Paper or Plastic. I’m currently helping Rob to finish up the flyers and promotional materials for the show. Then onto starting my submission… To see photos of last years show, click here.

Welcome Back Cleveland

Aperture & The Impossible Project are putting on a photography event at Cleveland’s popular Greenhouse Tavern next month. I was selected alongside 5 other photographers to participate in this one-night photography exhibit + rooftop party. An Analogue’s Perspective – Welcome Back Cleveland describes the content of the show; analogue photographs celebrating Cleveland. The Impossible Project is donating a camera kit for a give-away, as well as supplying the photographers with film to use the day of the event. There will definitely be some good food, drinks & a polaroid photo-booth. It’s all going down on September 25th. Props to Anthony Zart for the poster design!

Thread Count: The T-Shirt Show

Last week I mentioned an upcoming t-shirt show at Revival. The details are now hammered down, and you can find out more about the event, on Facebook. Here’s a quick flyer I made up for the event, which will also be printed on cotton fabric, instead of your traditional show flyer.

Design for Revival’s T-Shirt Art Show

I just completed my design for the upcoming September T-Shirt Design art-show at Revival. For those unfamiliar, Revival is a boutique clothing store in Akron, Ohio, that also has art openings every month. The store prints (in-house) and sells several of their own lines, so it makes perfect sense to gather designs from local artists to do a group show of t-shirt designs. Each design is made specifically for this show, and they will be available in very limited quantities. I think we may print mine on 12 t-shirts, and 6 tank-tops. Other artists participating include Matt Horak, John Straub, Andy Taray, Rob Lehr & many more. More details soon.

AK-Rowdy Indie Craft Fair

There’s an upcoming craft-fair in Akron, and I’ll proudly have some work for sale. Alongside my friends Tim Skirven & Tony Preto, I’ll be selling some limited screen-printed gig-posters, and a few other odds-and-ends. My buddy Tim will be in town from Virginia, and I’ll be proud to have his work alongside mine. Here‘s the facebook event, or see the flyer below.
