Rustic Bullshit

I spent a few hours today screen-printing the jackets for the long-overdue vinyl treatment of Rustic Bullshit by Talons’. Also known for his work with Six Parts Seven and Trouble Books, Mike has been making music under the name Talons’ for quite some time. This record was originally released as a CD-R in 2006, and is now getting the vinyl treatment. First-pressing is limited to 100 copies, in chipboard jackets, that I screen-printed (three colors). It’s also being mastered for the first time, and will spin at 45rpm, for the audiophiles. Look for it soon, from Bark & Hiss. Listen to the CD-R (unmastered) version of the album below.

While there, Andy & Josh were printing the Cloudkicker that Adam & Keith designed – five colors!

Gabe Schray “Corrected Follies”

Today I helped my pal and roommate Gabe Schray print the jackets for his newest project Corrected Follies. A limited-to-100 12″ LP coming out early 2012 from Bark and Hiss. They are printed on reversed recycled LP jackets. For the last 10, we tried my first attempt at a blend roll, with fluorescent pink & yellow inks. There will only be 10 of those, for the collectors. Huge thanks to Gabe, Keith & Soundtrack for their helping hands. Check out one of the songs, below:

Beneath Oblivion | Angel Eyes Split

I spent countless hours this weekend screen-printing the new 7″ split release from The Mylene Sheath. There are 500 hand-numbered copies, and they took a looong time. 100 on red (with corresponding clear red vinyl), 200 on grey (with opaque grey vinyl) and 200 on white (with clear vinyl). The design was handled by my friend Nate (Northern Lights Industries) and the photo by a member of Beneath Oblivion. The white & grey versions are still available for purchase.

Also, Joel sent me a picture-text of the records, which came in today!

Frightened Rabbit Poster

Here’s a poster I made for Scotland’s Frightened Rabbit. I originally met Grant & Scott when they were on tour with Josh Ritter, and over shots of whiskey, Grant and I planned out future endeavors, this poster being the first bit of fruition. For the image, I referenced lyrics from their song Skip the Youth, “I’ve been digging that hole tonight, on my knees beneath the moon…” You can grab a silkscreened print at the Cleveland show of their current tour, or online after. Limited to 50, hand-pulled copies.

Midsummer Night’s Dance

Patternbased & Rubber City Noise are presenting a night of music + art. To serve as Low in the Sky‘s release show for A Shared Rainbow, and lots more. DJ sets & micro-performances by Bellows, Corey Farrow, Pat McNulty, QIX & Kristi Wall. Visual displays by Kendra Minadeo, Cory M. Davis, Steve Felix, James Bryan Parks & Natalie Dechiara. And lastly, art by: Kristi Wall & Charlie Wagers.

In the same fashion as the Rainbow album art, Kristi & I collab’ed on a poster. She did the illustration, we layed it out together, and I screenprinted them (with Jake’s help). The event is next Saturday, July 9th, at the CAVE.  Check out the facebook event.
