RFBM

This past week I’ve spent helping my friend Bo come up with some visuals for his new project, Roofbeam. Alongside our friend Geoff, we’ve been collaborating so Bo will have plenty of new things at his two upcoming shows at Stone Tavern & Musica. This shirt being one of these projects, based on a logo I created – rendering perspective on letters is a b.

Quilt + Keith Freund + Bo Bishop

My good friend Seth is embarking on a Canadian tour this month, and asked that I book him a show in Akron so we get hang out for a day. He once was in the band Romance of Young Tigers (I was known to handle some artwork for them), and his latest project is called Quilt. Alongside his set, will be two other good-Akron-buddies; Keith Freund – 1/2 of Trouble Books, celebrating the vinyl release of his album Constant Comments; and Bo Bishop - who will be performing all-new material, in preparation of his show on October 2nd as Roofbeam, opening for The Album Leaf.

Don’t miss this! September 30th at the Stone Tavern in Kent.

Constant Comments

I recently helped my friend Keith (Trouble Books) put together the artwork for his new solo album Constant Comments. To be released this August via Experimedia, on a limited vinyl pressing. The music is made up of guitar loops over acquired field recordings. For two weeks you can stream the album in its entirety below, via Fluid Radio.

Midsummer Night’s Dance

Patternbased & Rubber City Noise are presenting a night of music + art. To serve as Low in the Sky‘s release show for A Shared Rainbow, and lots more. DJ sets & micro-performances by Bellows, Corey Farrow, Pat McNulty, QIX & Kristi Wall. Visual displays by Kendra Minadeo, Cory M. Davis, Steve Felix, James Bryan Parks & Natalie Dechiara. And lastly, art by: Kristi Wall & Charlie Wagers.

In the same fashion as the Rainbow album art, Kristi & I collab’ed on a poster. She did the illustration, we layed it out together, and I screenprinted them (with Jake’s help). The event is next Saturday, July 9th, at the CAVE.  Check out the facebook event.

Giants 7″

My old friends in Giants have a (sort of) new 7″ out on The Mylene Sheath. It’s actually their first EP, re-recorded, mixed & mastered, and the first time getting the vinyl treatment. I didn’t do the artwork for this; it’s actually a sculpture made out of beans by Micah Bloom, and the layout handled by Nate Shumaker. I did, however, design the logo that they used on the cover. I originally created the name treatment for their Old Stories release, and am pumped to see it get continued use. Listen to some of the music, below.
