Expired Type 54 4×5

Today I took a quick trip up to Aperture to pick up some photos from a past art show. While I was there, Scott Meivogel asked if I would sit for a quick (not really) portrait. He used a 4×5 camera, loaded with eleven-year-expired type 54 film. This camera was insane, you have to focus the shot with the shutter open, then close it and load in the film – without moving the camera or the subject. Using his iPhone light-meter, and the shutter was open for two seconds. Pretty awesome. I can’t believe how sharp it is.

Gabe Schray “Corrected Follies”

Today I helped my pal and roommate Gabe Schray print the jackets for his newest project Corrected Follies. A limited-to-100 12″ LP coming out early 2012 from Bark and Hiss. They are printed on reversed recycled LP jackets. For the last 10, we tried my first attempt at a blend roll, with fluorescent pink & yellow inks. There will only be 10 of those, for the collectors. Huge thanks to Gabe, Keith & Soundtrack for their helping hands. Check out one of the songs, below:

Live It Up!

A few months ago I helped my friends at Soundtrack Printing make a logo for their new clothing line. They just launched their first release of t-shirts for sale, as well as some cool bracelets adorned with my logo. Go check them out: Live it Up!

Blood Brother

My friends from Endeavor Media are working with a film crew to create a documentary about our friend, and what he found when he moved to India. I first met Rocky, and Steve & Danny when I lived in Pittsburgh in 2008. The film is called Blood Brother, and is solely supported by donations and initial funding from Kickstarter. Below is the logo I made for the film, and a trailer-teaser. I’m glad to be able to be a part of this project, and lend a hand where I can, for a good cause.

Roofbeam Black EP

I’ve been helping my friend Bo get ready for two shows this weekend, debuting his new project under the name Roofbeam. He’s put out a free digital EP, and his follow up is called the Black EP. We hand-assembled a limited edition of 100 copies in white-chipboard sleeves, on double-sided black CD-Rs, with full-color insert. Geoff and I both took the photographs incorporated into the artwork. These will be for sale tonight at Musica, as he is opening for The Album Leaf. Listen to my favorite track from the EP, below:
