Art in the Square

Saturday, August 28th, 2010

I just dropped by Akron’s Annual Art in the Square, and found Kim (and her adorable dog), who is selling the new shirts that Cheryl and I created for the event. Cheryl did the illustration, and I handled the text/layout. Adam at Revival did the printing. Also, several of my friends are vendors, so I snapped a photo of some cards I recently made for Traci, which are alongside the cards I made for Brian.

The Attending

Wednesday, July 28th, 2010

My long time friend Corey is starting up a new band. After sitting on a set of songs for quite some time, he’s ready to dive back into the music biz. His new music is under the name The Attending, and this shirt is the first piece in a line of work for my old friend.

Flood Tide needs your help!

Monday, June 21st, 2010

Flood Tide is a road movie on a river. It tells the story of four musicians who create extraordinary boats out of ordinary junk and set out for open water, fueled by dreams, desperation and a sense of adventure. Directed by friend Todd Chandler, and starring the rest of DDD, it is also a collaboration with the Swimming Cities of Switchback Sea, a project started by the artist Swoon and built by an eclectic group of artists and performers. In the summer of 2008, the crew built and floated seven large, boat-sculptures down the Hudson River, putting on performances in towns along the way. While documenting the real life journey, Flood Tide is a work of fiction that uses the voyage as its centerpiece.

Here’s where you can help, and be a part of the project. The film needs assistance in funding. CLICK HERE to view the Kickstarter page for the film, where you can donate money to help the project be completed. You even get some rewards for your donation, which can include a copy of the film, soundtrack, your name in the credits list, a Swoon monograph, or even an original piece of art from the film.  With a little under a month to go, your help would be very much appreciated.

Easter Cookout

Here are some videos and photos from this past Sunday’s house show cookout. Some of these were taken by me, my girlfriend, and Zach, who shot the videos also. For the info on the event, see this post.

Comfort Clouds

Saturday, March 20th, 2010

This week I assisted my friends Jen & Jake on their new album cover for Comfort Clouds‘ “The Dinner Set”. The rest of the layout is well underway, and the cover complete. Jen did the illustrations, and I’m working through the layout with them, and (kind of) trying to talk Jake out making it look completely like a Steely Dan record. This will hopefully be released in May, and can be obtained through Bark and Hiss.
